Week 1: Define good teaching

1 min read

I believe that good teaching requires qualities such as: patience, relatability, and time. Teacher's who can not relate to their students, or do not try to, do not receive the kind of feedback that they want from their student's. As a student, I feel that it is obvious when a teacher does not like what they are doing. It is encouraging to see a teacher passionate about what they are teaching. I also believe patience is a huge quality in teaching. It is inevitable that teacher's are going to have to reiterate their lessons, and what they want from their students. Lastly, teachers who take the time to plan out their lessons, or just put in the time out of class to meet with students show in their students work and effort. Students do not want to come to class dreading it, but instead want to be able to relate to their teachers, and should want to be there to a certain extent.
