In order to due your hair you must first pick what kind of color you want then you must wash your hair. It's important to read all the instructions on the box but to also layer hair properly. The biggest mistake people make when dying hair is not reading the directions in assuming they know what to do. Every hair dye has different instructions because every dye is different. I would definitely not say dying hair is the hardest thing I've done.

Learning Update 3

I've discovered during my world-building that there is a slight issue between the races of Man and Centaurs. In my world, the two races are allied with each other after banding together during the Greenskin Invasion where the Centaurs proved themselves to be excellent skirmishers and heavy calvary. After the war, the human king rewarded the nomadic people with a place to call their home and the eternal friendship of the empire. With some help from the Dwarves of the Forged Mountains and the Gnomes present within the empire, they managed to build a large city for the Centaurs to call home. The city is much larger than normal cities as it's more spread out and buildings take up more space and where stairs are needed, they are replaced with ramps and large elevators operated by pulleys and weights. Now the problem lies in that Centaurs are half man and half horse. The empire is well known for its Gryphon Knights. Knights that ride upon Gryphons which are half eagle and half lion. Gryphons favorite prey are horses. They descend from the skies and attack the horses by ripping its neck out and swarming upon them. Though the beasts are well tamed, wild Gryphons have been known to stalk the lands of the Centaur people and even some of the trained ones have been reported to attack Centaurs if their owner has not fed them in the morning.

It's things like these that make me giddy and excited for when I'm finally able to put it all on the table and have my players learn and experience these things for themselves as I am by simply reading through paragraphs of these beasts from not just the current material, but even previous editions as well as discussion threads on Reddit and other places online.

The Rune Knight (UA) Class for Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) Fifth Edition (5e) - D&D Beyond

BOOKMARK #1

So in my world, I do plan on running some homebrew elements to make the game more fun and interesting. For those who do not know what I mean when I say "homebrew" basically they involve anything about the game whether it be items, events, NPCs, classes, races, monsters, etc that are not official. They are made up of the DnD community and some of these homebrewers have gotten to the point where they can be considered a sort of pseudo-homebrew where they're almost official but not exactly like Matt Mercer's Gunslinger and Blood Hunter. I have come up with some homebrews of my own and not just what I've found but to quickly explain the link above, the Giants have trained their citizens in the ways of combat with these mystic runes, the race the Giants rule over are related to them but not exactly like them, a group of people called Goliaths. These Goliaths then took these practices and taught them to the Dwarves due to the close relationship these races have together being neighbors within the mountains.

As for my homebrews, I will only speak of one otherwise you'd be reading an essay. My homebrew creature is a giant spider that makes it's home on the ocean, sailing across it upon an iceberg like device but is made entirely of its webbing. It naturally can walk across water and attacks any ships it sees. They are a very dangerous threat as when they are left unchecked, the nests get bigger and bigger until they form what are called "Silk Islands" which can host dozens of large spiders and thousands of egg sacs. They are sought after due to their very rare webbing that is used to make fine clothing and magical life vests as the properties of this silk make it so that it can never be submerged in any liquid as it will immediately go back up to the surface. Mechanically, it gives the person wearing such an item the passive ability Walk on Water spell.

Latin Update 1

2 min read

I started by watching a few Youtube videos to get some sort of foundation going. Some of them gave me a bird's eye view of sorts into the language as well as why it was important to learn Latin. Since, it's a dead language, I'm not going to put a huge emphasis on learning how to listen to or speak it. Mostly reading/writing. However, if I still like it by the end, I might continue learning it outside of this class.

I'm using a beginner's Latin textbook I found a free pdf of online. It's so helpful and I'm getting a fairly good grasp on the verbs and sentence structure so far since I'm familiar with Spanish as well. Also, English has some Latin roots which also helps. I anticipate a little more trouble with the noun declensions since neither English nor Spanish does this. The changing of a noun depending on what part of the sentence it is is a lot to think about along with how to conjugate the verbs. I can see why many Romance languages have moved away from noun declesions.

By the weekend, I want to be able to know about half of the noun cases so we'll see what happens there!

Below is a full list of noun declensions. Tough stuff (for me at least), but language fascinates me so this will be a fun challenge.

About Connected Learning Alliance

2 min read

I think connected learning is really interesting and should be taught to a lot more kids nowadays. I never knew about connected learning until I started to take this class. Reading about the example they give for connected learning with the student Abigail, it can provide opportunities and instill confidence in others. It is great to have support and a community to back you up in things you are interested in. If you're gonna let your children go on the internet make sure they are using it for good and not bad, making sure it benefits themselves. In the long run she gained confidence and was able to start thinking about her future career. We all learn differently and I think it is important to take someone’s strength and play off them so you can set them up to succeed instead of setting them up to fail. I know from experience that I am a visual and hands on learner. So even up to now in college I have to adjust to learning in different environments. I learned with the help of my family to teach myself in ways. Everyone wants to learn when they are interested in it, if you're not interested in it you will have a harder time learning, that’s when you start to not want to even do the work. If you feel comfortable with the person who is teaching you and you feel comfortable in the environment you are being taught in you are gonna be more likely to succeed, I agree with that one hundred percent.

Learn something blog post

This week for my learn something, it was hard to practice changing a tire and getting the tools to. Due to the virus most stores I needed to go to were closed. So I have to use the tools that I already have at home. Luckily my dad knows how to change a tire and oil in a car, so I didn't have to go out and find someone. I am still watching videos and reading articles on how to change a tire. I want to make sure that I am properly informed, before even beginning to do hands on learning. I am not confident enough yet to start doing hands on work. Soon I will watch my dad change a tire and oil and have him explain every detail to me. Then next week I want to start trying it myself. Once I know how to do it I want to practice repitition so I am confident if a situation happens to occur.

Case study: D&D

2 min read

In the case study I am reading about. The author makes a D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) player sheet but finds it too messy and wants to find a way to make it more clean while keeping the traditional feel to it. The problem with this study is that what he is trying to do is essentially a paradox. As someone who has played D&D for a about 2 years, your sheet will always get messy if you're playing it with pen and paper. Roll20 is an online system for the game and can make things more clean but nothing beats the "at the table" feel of the game. You will encounter many things in your games, become afflicted with unknown diseases, gain new feats and powers, and a plethora of other things that I cannot list otherwise this post would become a 500 page essay on what could happen. That's the magic of the game. Literally, anything could happen. The DM (Dungeon Master) is the one who makes the rules and determines what'll happen next. He could have a fleet of Mind Flayer ships jump out of a portal above the the city you started the game in as the Githyanki come out of similar portals upon red dragons and battle over the city as the civilians run to cover and you and your party members decide what course of action you'll take. Or that cultists have opened up a portal that leads to the Abyss and now a never-ending horde of demons begin invading the realm and your group needs to figure out how to solve it.

Point being: Anything can happen, things will change, your charchter will change throughout the game. Not enough space? Buy a notebook. or write on the back or go signup on Roll20.

Learning Update

I've conitued reading my sources and thinking of more and more backstories, histories, heros, villians, etc for my world to make it very action packed and exciting to be in. But sometimes I think I'm over doing it and should maybe calm down. Making charcther sheets for alot of the NPCs is a pain since the majority will never show up again after a 20 minute exchange. So all the writing and creation go not to total waste, but left behind. I've learned a lot from the books about certain monsters and possible origins on how they would come to be in this wolrd. Humaniod spider monsters, moaning flying manta rays that rip your will apart, a normal looking door that when touched reveal rows of sharp teeth that rip you apart and melt you with acid. There are many terrifying monsters in this world, and those three are nothing compared to the "big bads" that sit dormant throughout the land.
