BA in Psychology with a concentration of mental health and a minor in criminal justice.

I have done a lot of the assignments for the module, I believe I am only missing 2-3 that will be completed by the end of this week. I am doing final touches to my script for my podcast and to my video before I submit it.

WEEK TWO: CONNECTED LEARNING OUTLINE:
Connected learning: Connected learning is the act of taking something a person enjoys doing on her personal time and transforming it into something connected to an academic branch. The article gives examples of people who have transformed their hobbies into careers and explains how much easier and enjoyable it is to be in an industry that you love. Educators use a variety of networks and organizations in both formal and informal environments to bring awareness about connected learning. Organizations and clubs are using technology to attract newer members and contributors. Social media is expanding as a marketing goldmine to get a hold of the younger audience that rarely watches the news or cable in general. Adds are strategically placed everywhere to bring people into these connected learning spaces such as schools, churches, museums, art galleries and etc.

Week Two: Reflection 3
Friday, October 11th
I got the eyelashes I ordered from amazon today and I began my training after I was done with my classes for the day. It is quite hard to separate the eyelashes, but it seems to be all about technique so hopefully after training for a few days I will be able to do this faster and with more consistency. I am positive now that this glue will not cut it for me because it takes way too long for it to dry and sometimes it really becomes a pain to place an eyelash the right angle, I want with the glue taking so long to dry and being so thin. I am still using the same website to train and I am training by watching the professors videos and tutorials.

Week Two: Reflection 2
Wednesday, October 9th.
The eyelash extension beginners kit that I ordered from Amazon has arrived, it is a bit cheaper than I thought and I did not like the eyelashes that came with it. I decided to order better eyelashes to train with and I have to wait for them to get here now. I am all caught up on the classes before the training so there is nothing for me to study right now, I also did not like this glue’s consistency, and I am most likely going to do a little more research and buy a different glue for when I switch the applications to my models. I have been watching a few YouTube videos on the topic but it’s a little hard to find a good source for the hygiene of the client’s eyelashes part, they all seem to use what works for them and not follow a pattern.

Week Two: Reflection 1
Monday, October 7th.
I am still waiting on the eyelash extension kit so I can begin my training. It will be here on Wednesday this week. I have just been reading back the lessons to make sure I have the theory down and am not missing anything of importance. I took a few notes on the primary things I have to always remember while doing the application and have decided not to move ahead on the theory part until I have training for a while. I have been using the website acesso.esteticaead.com.br to access my online classes and talking to the professor via WhatsApp.

Week One: Reflection 3
Saturday, October 5th.
I have completed the second portion of my theory of eyelash extension, I have learned all the materials I need and decided to buy a beginner’s kit on Amazon. It will arrive next week in the middle of the week and the part I am worried about the most is the glue. The glue is the most important part of the eyelash application process because it will determine the amount of time you spend on the application and also how often your client will have to touch up her eyelash extensions.

Week One: Reflection 2
Friday, October 4th.
I have completed the first portion of the theory of eyelash extensions, I have learned that eyelash extensions need to be placed on a singular lash and with minimal glue, making sure to leave about 2mm of distance between your natural lash line and the extension’s beginning. However, I still have not learned about the materials I will need or the application technique yet.
