Revised Syllabus

I will be setting up a Microsoft Teams account. I will hang around on M and W frequently and be there the other days but may have appointments.

I will post all my tutorial and classroom how to stuff on Think About It Tuesdays.

You will have some group work. We will do that in Teams.

Learn Something

Week One

Write

Publish three podcasts reflecting on what you learned.

Participate

Get together with a group. Find an online community. Analyze the community using a connected learning lens. Post a link your groups outline.

Past Due: Outline of a the connected learning case study mentor text. You may complete aloe or as a group.

Week Two

Write

Publish a video demoing what you learned.

Make a timeline using timelinejs

Participate

As a group write your connectedlearning case study. How will you meet online? I will set up Microsoft Teams.

  • Did you read the Maisha Winn article?
  • Did you make a concept map, drawing the shape of Winn's piece? How would you visually represent the ideas, organizations, and connections?
  • Did you publish a post describing what you will learn?
  • Did you publish a blog post, meeting our new high standards, reflecting on the readings?
  • Did you bookmark three sources you will use to learn something?
  • Did you take and share notes on the bookmarks you shared?
  • Did you share three written reflections on what your are learning?
  • Did you share thee audio reflection on what you are learning?
  • Did you analyze a mentor text using our graphic organizer?
  • Did you submit a graphic organizer analyzing an online community
  • Did you write a 250 case study of your online community evaluating the space using a connected learning lens?

Italics are currently in progress and due by 2020-04-03.

Teach Something

This module now cluminates as your final portfolio. You will build a website and choose one of four pathways:

  • video: make and edit a video series
  • audio: podcasting
  • photo: digital storytelling and photography
  • web design: turn your Glitch site into blog

You will need to Launch your website for the final . You can choose from the following options. I have a free domain for everyone.

Micro.blog (free but then five dollars a month, just works is awesome)

wordpress.com

Glitch.com just stick with what you built already.

Write

Explain what you are going to teach and how you will teach the lesson.

In another post define good teaching and describe what you think goes into a good lesson

Participate

Complete a a padlet describing better teachers and what faculty at Southern Connecticut State Universaity need to do to teach better

Work on your teaching activity. Post a blog post about the readings and a reflection about your teach something project

Participate

You need to record yourself doing an ignite talk. Share an outline of your ignite talk. You can do you ignite talk about the subject you are teaching.

We will edit the video using WeVideo.

Week Three

Write

Finish the media for your teach something project.  Post a blog reflection

Participate

Make and share a survey or quiz about your teach something video. Record and share your ignite talk.

Week Four

Write

Finish your portfolio page on your website. Check the portfolio assessment tab above/

Participate

Join us for a Gallery Walk as we celebrate everyone's projects.
